Namaste!
This week was a rough one. I struggled with exhaustion so it was pretty difficult for me to find the energy to do my yoga at the end of the night. Though I did not do my yoga as much as I wanted to, I did do stretches both during lifting and at work.
Though the stretches aren't really yoga, they were pretty good at loosening my muscles and making me feel a little calmer. I did sun salutation (touch your toes, deep squat, calf stretches, cobra pose, child's pose) for zero period. At work, I had a more lengthy stretch routine. Here's what I did:
1. Standing pike stretch (touch your toes)
2. Standing straddle stretch

3. Butterfly
4. Sitting pike stretch (pointed and flexed feet)
5. Sitting Straddle stretch (right leg, left leg, middle)
6. Wrist stretches
7. Split Stretches (my right leg split was down, left leg was about six inches from the ground)
8. Bridges
I want my yoga this week to go better, starting tonight. I am going to start some more advanced poses this week. This weekend I want to do about an hour of yoga each day. I think that will help my mind get back in the right place and jump start my week better.
Progress:
I'm not going to measure the scorpion because I'm experiencing some back pain.
Hopefully next week goes better. Namaste!
As with any new endeavor, there are bound to be some rough spots. Good job keeping your head up and staying motivated for the future though! Is there a different time of day where you could fit in your yoga if nights aren't working? Will you use anything else to measure your progress alongside the scorpion now that you can touch your toes?
