Genious Hour 1.7

Namaste!

Yoga is difficult and has been rather painful this week. This was the main video I followed:

Most of this was very relaxing. One of the biggest issues is that I am in a hotel room and I left my mat at home. I definitely have rug burns on my knees now.

I also noticed that I don't like the stationary poses as much. I prefer ones that have more of a rocking motion so it is easier to concentrate.

The poses stretched out my calves, quads, and hamstrings. The two hardest poses were lizard variation and cow legs.

Lizard (mine did not look this good)

Cow legs (I don't think legs are supposed to bend like that)

My hips did not like these poses very much but I have had some hip problems in the past so it's not surprising. I tried to push through the pain but mostly ended up just doing easier variations for my own sanity.

I can touch my toes in both a sitting and standing pike. I was not sure if this yoga was actually going to help but I could have never touched my toes prior to this. It feels good to be able to touch my toes, especially at work when the twenty first graders can.

  1. It sounds like it's pretty hard to be doing this project in hotels! Those positions look very uncomfortable, so I applaud your tolerance of pain! Congratulations on achieving your goal of touching your toes! What's your next goal after that with yoga/flexibility?
